I think this is a very informative article. Lots of links to good pages. My favorite piece of advice is:
[if you're voting on election day]
Take your list of phone numbers (hot line and campaign headquarters) and some extra paper for taking notes, if necessary.
Take your cell phone and small camera.
A) what am I taking notes on?
B) why do I need a camera?
I've learned the following things about voting in North Carolina:
--it's okay for me to wear my Democrat headband
--if I vote straight ticket, I have to vote for president and vice-president separately.
--I'm not voting straight ticket, because I like the libertarian for governor.
