taking a break

I'm taking a break from copying and pasting political stuff. Woo!

I'm loving the Spring Lake branch. It's small, so the workroom is for everyone--youth services, information services, circulation, the branch manager's office is in here. It's nice to work with people from the different areas. I even have a desk, since they have an open Librarian I position. So that's nice. There's a total of 4 HQ people here. Everyone's super nice, so that'll make the next couple of months go easier.

I still don't have my car back. I got a call from my insurance yesterday saying they still don't know if they're going to fix it or total it. Please fix it--come May, I won't be able to afford car payments. Thank you, loads of student loans.

I'm not done with my Halloween quilt. HA! Tonight I'm going to try to sew the binding on and somehow put loops on it somewhere. I haven't quite figured out how to hang it on the wall. I supposed I could put some hooks in a wall and hang it with a dowel rod. That would be easy. But if I did that, it wouldn't be until tomorrow. I was sad to realize the other day that I forgot to put up my countdown to Halloween this year. Next year. I'll even write it in my planner on September 30th "put up Halloween countdown". I have been wearing Halloween socks every day this week, and I put up my orange lights yesterday. (I was so happy to see them, I thought I'd lost them in the moving-from-Iowa-City-to-Des-Moines-to-Illinois thing.)

Once I kick this cold (hopefully this weekend) I'm going to work some more on the paper-pieced quilts that are Christmas presents this year. I'm almost done with the top of one and have started sewing the pieces together for the other.

I also have grand plans to make pumpkin coffee cake this weekend for breakfast. And a sweet potato pie! I'm excited!
