work stuff

I'm pretty excited about work right now. I get to do my very first display that I'm going to be putting up this evening or tomorrow morning, depending on how busy I am at the desk tonight. I've been designated the point person for the main display by the Information desk. And since Banned Books Week starts on Saturday, I get to put up banned books. And police tape. I love BBW, so it makes me happy that this is my first display. And I'll be posting the list of books I used for the display, in case anyone wants to read them. I'm going to read all of them. Even Ulysses.

And, on Monday I get to do my first program. It's not really mine, but the woman who's in charge of it has a meeting at the same time that she can't miss, so I'm doing it instead. I get to introduce speakers, encourage the attendees to complete a survey, count the people who come, and take pictures! Whee!

October 8th will be my first night as the PIC--Person In Charge. Eek! Hmmm....I wanted to not work until 9 that night. I'll have to see if someone will trade me nights. I'm sure someone will. I work with nice people.

In other news, today at a training class, I figured out that I can move myself up in the hold queue for books. I discovered this by actually doing it. And decided that it is wrong and moved myself back down.
