get ready, get set, DEBATE!

Some thoughts:

• I truly think the debates would be more interesting if the candidates could bitch-slap each other every once in a while.  Like if candidate A tells a blatant lie about candidate B, B should be able to bitch-slap A.
  
• I will be interested to know how much money gets donated to each campaign during the debate and afterward.
• I got tired really fast of McCain smirking and snickering while Obama was talking.  I thought it was very disrespectful.
• Equally disrespectful was McCain never looking at Obama while rebutting what he was saying.  Obama at least looked at McCain.  And did McCain ever really look into the camera?  It felt like he was only speaking to Jim Lehrer.
• I never noticed until tonight that McCain has a comb-over.
• During his "answer" to question 1, I honestly thought McCain was saying "fayers" not "failures".  (And to be honest, Obama's answer is also an "answer" but he at least came close to answering.)
• What really bothered and slightly worried me about McCain's actual answer about if he's going to vote for the bailout was him saying "I hope so."  You hope so??  I hope I'll win the lottery.
• McCain laughs at himself and what he says in the same manner as Bush, which is both annoying and entertaining.
• McCain's got balls to lie about Obama while Obama's standing right there.
• I don't think it's bad at all to sit down and talk to foreign leaders without pre-conditions.  If McCain's worried that they'll say something he doesn't like, guess what: you're going to say things they don't like.  I didn't write down what Obama said after McCain criticizing him for saying he'd meet without pre-conditions, but I did write the note "Ba-zing!"  Possibly it was Obama saying there's a difference between pre-conditions and preparation.
• I don't think I've ever actually watched a presidential debate before.  Then again, I've never been more passionate about a candidate than I am this year.

And on a separate, non-debate note, I just want to say that if you TRULY believe that the last 8 years have been fabulous and that G Dub is absolutely awesome, then feel free to vote for McCain.  If you don't think that, for the love of America, our safety and our economy, do not vote for McCain.
