symphony

We had another symphony program tonight at the library. Here are the things I loved about tonight's program:

  • there was a troop of Girl Scout Daisies in attendance and they were adorable
  • there was a man who, from the back, looked like George Lucas
  • one of the Girl Scouts was pretending to conduct
  • Joanna, the tuba player who gives the lecture portion of the evening, was comparing artists and composers tonight. She said Impressionists are like composers who use all the notes on the piano, while painters who paint "inside the lines" are like composers who only use a few of the notes. I really liked that comparison
