yay!

After work today Jason and I went over to Valley Volkswagen to ask some questions about the silver 2000 Jetta.  (Wait, Erika, didn't you just have a silver 2000 Jetta??)  The car is not a certified "pre-loved" VW (they call them pre-loved rather than pre-owned) because it is 8 years old.  It's an "age" thing and not a "this car is crappy" thing.  And the car has roughly 116K miles on it, but the people who owned it moved here, so they racked up a bunch of miles that way.  Plus, that comes out to about 15K per year, which isn't too bad.  I averaged 12,500 per year.  The car is a one-owner car, which is great.  It's never been in an accident and never needed a paint job.  The people who owned it babied the car, which is fantastic.  The leather is spotless and everything works like new.  The guy we talked to said he's actually used the car as a loaner before.  So.  I told him that I really wanted the car, and that I already "have" a 2000 Jetta, but I'd just gotten in an accident and my insurance had totaled the car.  At this point he looked concerned and asked if I was okay--how sweet.  I told him I'm just waiting on my insurance money (which I should get by next week) and that if there was any way he could hold the car for me, that would be really great.  He said that he would mark the car as sold and hold it for me.  But he still wants me to take it for a test drive, which I will.

And this car is the GLX version, so it's nice.  It's got a sun roof, leather seats, cruise control (yay!), automatic dimming rearview mirror, and climate control.  Nice.  And it's an automatic, so if Jason and I take the car anywhere, I don't have to drive the whole way.
