stuff

Thanks, partly, to Naphtali who was here the last couple of days, I have rediscovered my love of BBC America.  I haven't had this channel since 2003.  I've already spent a couple of hours earlier this fall laying in bed on Sunday morning watching Monty Python.  But now I am going to try to remember to watch Graham Norton as well.  And, of course, they have the originals of most US shows, so that's fun.  However, one show that started in the US and is in the works for a UK show: Law and Order.  Seriously.  Martha from Doctor Who is on it.  I don't think it's started yet.

Today I cut out some fabric for a winter quilt.  I figure if I can't have snowmen outside, I'll have them on a quilt inside.  I don't have very much cut out, since I don't really have the right colors of fabric.

I bought a Christmas tree last week.  It was on sale, so I figured it would be cool.  Today I bought some fabric to make a tree skirt, and the pattern is really easy, so that should only take a couple of hours.

I've been working at the Spring Lake Library since the fire.  It's nice there.  Very small.  But it's a nice change from the insanity at Headquarters.  On Wednesday, Nora said the first and second floors should be able to be opened to the public (so we can go back!) in 4 months.  So, I'm hoping by the end of March.  The basement, however, is going to take longer.  Probably 7 or 8 months.  Which makes me wonder: what about the staff lounge?  If we're there for 3 or 4 months before the basement opens, are we going to have a fridge and microwave available somewhere?  Because I can't afford to go out for lunch every day.  And there are few lunches that don't need refrigeration.  Peanut butter and jelly, which I don't want to eat for 4 months.  Oh well, I'm sure everything will work out.
