Tonight I made my first cheesecake. I found a recipe online for chai cheesecake. It's made with sugar, cream cheese, and 1/2 cup of boiling water steeped for 5 minutes with 6 bags of chai. It smells yummy. So hopefully it tastes good. I'll know tomorrow.
I've (finally) started making the Frank Lloyd Wright afghan. I'm excited. I have 4 1/2 blocks (out of 12) done. They aren't taking very long, so I hope to be done with it in maybe a week.
Last night I cut the fabric for my Maltese Falcon quilt. Finally. My library chose The Maltese Falcon for their Big Read book this year. And they're having a quilt "contest". I don't know if there's actually going to be a winner. I decided to enter. My quilt is going to be tiny. The middle of it is a 6x6 square. There are 4 borders--black for the color of the falcon, red for the color of Brigid's hair, yellow for the color of Sam's eyes, and brown because brown seems like a good color for the book: detective hats are always brown fedoras. I think the back will just be a little patchwork of the 4 colors. And what's the center piece? It's a picture of a maltese dog, with the Millennium Falcon in it's mouth--thanks to my mom for photoshopping those together!
I'll post pictures of both things once they're done.

Oooh! I can't wait to see pictures of it. That is a cool idea...to make a quilt based on a book. Fun! Aren't we just the two coolest girls...librarians who quilt. I'm sure I would have never though of myself that way in a million years when I was in high school!
Totally. In high school I never thought I'd be a) a librarian or b) quilting.
