Let's go Hawks!

Yay!  Today's the first game of the season!  Boo--still no TV.  We're hoping that someone will have their radio broadcast streaming so we can listen.  Sometimes WHO does.  Despite the, ahem, "issues" that have been going on for the football team, I still want them to win.  How totally different than when the basketball team was having "issues" with Pierre Pierce!

I've learned a new way to crochet.  I started doing filet crochet the other day.  While it is incredibly difficult just because of the size of the hook, once I got the hang of it it wasn't so bad.  Kind of like when I learned to knit.  It was weird and (I thought) really hard, but now that I know what I'm doing, it's a piece of cake!  (Except rib knit.  That just baffles me.)

This weekend, in honor of a three day weekend, I'll be unpacking more of my stuff.  I've gotten the second bedroom to where there aren't any boxes in the middle of the room.  There is, however, and empty box in here.  But I don't want to get rid of it, because the cats enjoy playing in it.  Who doesn't love a fort?  But I need to tackle the kitchen and living room.  And really, the living room should be redone anyway.  It's weird.  We have this huge living room, and I think it looks really cramped because the chairs and coffee table are just right there, in the middle of everything.  Oh well.  It works for us right now.  And it's not like we have any visitors.  We don't know anyone.

But!  I made a new friend at work yesterday.  Missy.  The YA librarian.  She's super cool because 1) she's a librarian 2) she likes monkeys 3) she organized Librari-con and while I don't really care for manga and anime, it's totally awesome that she created this day for the people in the county who do.

Game time in 3 hours, 33 minutes!
