Saturday thoughts

~I was at Wal-Mart today. Being the day before Easter, it was insanely busy. People buying candy for their kids' Easter baskets, food for Easter dinner and blocking the aisles for people who just came in to get some cat food, tomatoes and salad greens. All I could think about was Obi-Wan saying to Luke "Mos Eisley spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." I guess in my nerd mind, Wal-Mart and the spaceport on Mos Eisley are the same. Okay, brain, thanks for that.

~The bad part about losing weight is most of my pants and shorts are getting a little big. So belts are becoming more important than they have been in the last couple of years.

~I don't care if anyone says vampire books are passe. I've loved them since junior high, so whatever. And right now I'm reading The President's Vampire by Christopher Farnsworth (no relation to Sir Alfred Farnsworth*) and loving it. You could read it without reading Blood Oath, because he sort of explains things from the first novel, but I'd read Blood Oath first. Anyhoo, in the first book Cade (the vampire) battled a Dr. Frankenstein-type guy. In this book, there are LIZARD PEOPLE!!! Osama bin Laden was one. Also, he died in November 2011--the vampire threw a grenade in his mouth after he turned into a big ol' lizard man and blew him up.
