college highlights

I was listening to a Clash CD yesterday and that made me think about my two proudest moments in college.

1. In my Introduction to Buddhism class, we had a project called Glimpses of Buddhism. We had to use images that were related to Buddhism and explain what they were. I used a picture of a mandala, a picture of a temple, a picture of the Dalai Lama, a picture of my lotus flower tattoo, and the lyrics to Bodhisattva Vow by the Beastie Boys. Awesome.

2. In Introduction to Islam, our tests involved us choosing 10 words from a list of 12, defining them, and then explaining why they were important to Islam. In the middle of my explanation of 'minaret' I wrote "And the king called his jet fighters, he told them they better earn their pay, they better drop their bombs between the minarets down the casbah way in The Clash's Rock The Casbah." Then I continued on with my explanation.
