I was helping a nice man at the fax machine at work. He had to fax one page at a time, because the fax machine was being unhelpful. This meant small talk. He asked me where I went to school. He said that he used to be truck driver and was surprised at how many hills there were in Iowa. Then he let me know that Iowa had the biggest truck stop. I said "yeah! The I-80 truckstop! I love that place." He was surprised I knew it. I pointed out that I was from Des Moines and went to school in Illinois, I stopped there a lot. When we were done faxing, I printed out the journal to show that his pages had gone through. He shook my hand and said "if I had known that people from Iowa were so nice, I would've stopped there more and talked to people." I laughed and said "it's the midwest, we're all nice. That's what we do."
