I don't know about you but I subscribe to the Fiction_L list. It's entertaining, and I even contributed something once! Anyway, someone suggested making a "worst of" list for 2009. A couple of people are against it for fear it will turn into a "you have no taste" war. I think it's a fun idea, as long as it doesn't get out of hand and turn into that war. So, feel free to comment with the worst book you read this year and why it was the worst.
Mine is Inventing Wyatt Earp: His Life and Many Legends by Allen Barra*. It was kind of boring and jumped around a bit too much for me. I wanted to read a biography about Wyatt Earp, but this was more of a "this is what other people have written about Wyatt Earp or how he has been portrayed in movies, but they're most likely wrong and this is most likely right." It was a few months ago, but I'm pretty sure that instead of caring about the historical accuracy of it, I decided to watch Tombstone instead.
And now I think I'll also make a list of my favorite books I read this year--which didn't necessarily come out this year.
*I know you were expecting me to say that the worst book I read was Going Rogue, but it really wasn't an awful book. I rather enjoyed it.
