Me: Reference desk.
Person on phone (POP): Yes, is this the reference desk?
Me: Yes.
POP: Can you look someone up for me? I think they're 92 or 102.
Me: I -- um, I'm sorry, is that how old they are?
POP: Yes.
Me: Um, do you have a name?
POP: McClain. M-C-C-L-A-I-N.
Me: Are you looking for their phone number? Or their address?
POP: Yes.
Me: Okay. [pull out phone book] Do you have a first name?
POP: Lessie. L-E-S-S-I-E.
Me: I'm not seeing a listing for a Lessie McClain.
POP: Where are you looking?
Me: The phone book.
POP: Can you look on the internet? I don't think she's been here for long.
Me: Okay. [type in "Lessie McClain Fayetteville, NC" into Google] I'm not finding anything.
POP: Can I give you her maiden name? You can find her that way, right? Are you searching allpeople?
Me: No, I'm using Google.
POP: Okay, can you use allpeople?
Me: [type in allpeople.com, get a godaddy page] Allpeople.com?
POP: Yes.
Me: [type allpeople.com into Google, get www.allpeople.com.hk*] Um, allpeople.com appears to be a design firm.
POP: What does that mean?
Me: They do graphic design. Make brochures, pamphlets, things like that.
POP: So you can't find her?
Me: No.
POP: Okay.
