So I'm watching the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and a thought occurred to me. They have wizard schools in the UK, France, and somewhere in eastern Europe (seriously, does JK ever actually state where Durmstrang is located, country-wise?). Are there no wizards in North America? Africa? Asia? South America? Australia? And I still want to know what wizard kids do prior to going to Hogwarts. Like, where did the Weasleys and Draco go to school when they were younger? Am I the only one who wonders these things?

I had this same thought a long time ago. It was probably opened somewhere in New England and was shut down sometime during the Salem witch trails. I heard they reopened it inside of a cummulus cloud that floats over Iowa (I through that in just for you). You can only reach it by magic helicopter that can carry up to 400 passengers.
Hmmmm... never thought about that before. Maybe Rowling thinks magic doesn't exist outside of Europe.
Or maybe there were wizard schools in the U.S... but they got burned down by religious fanatics.
